Welcome to INVICTA International

By Dr. Chipo Mathis • Director & Founder

My name is Dr. Chipo Mathis, and I am the Director and Founder of INVICTA International, where we provide faith-based trauma support for women and caregivers walking through pain, grief, and burnout. I am truly grateful that you found your way here today.

Perhaps you came intentionally while searching for hope, healing, or encouragement. Maybe someone shared one of our resources with you. Or perhaps you simply discovered this space while looking for answers.

However you arrived, I want you to know this: you are welcome here.

More Than a Collection of Articles

INVICTA International is being created as much more than a place to read articles. It is a welcoming space where faith meets compassion, truth meets understanding, and healing can begin one step at a time.

My hope is that whenever you spend time here, you leave feeling encouraged, better equipped, and reminded that you are not alone. You do not have to understand everything today. You do not have to have every answer. You only need enough courage for the next step.

Some Wounds Cannot Be Seen

Many of us carry wounds that other people cannot see.

Some wounds begin in childhood and continue to affect us long after childhood has ended. Others come from unhealthy relationships, domestic violence, betrayal, abuse, grief, rejection, or seasons of overwhelming stress and adversity.

Sometimes trauma develops quietly over months or years. At other times, one sudden event can leave you feeling frightened, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward.

If this sounds familiar, please remember: you are not alone.

Caregivers Need Care Too

Perhaps you have spent months or years caring for a spouse, parent, child with special needs, or another loved one living with illness, disability, or the challenges of aging.

Caregiving is one of the greatest expressions of love. It can also be emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually exhausting. Many caregivers become so focused on meeting everyone else’s needs that they forget they need care too.

Those Who Care for Others Deserve Support

You may be a healthcare professional, first responder, ministry leader, counselor, teacher, advocate, or someone whose daily work involves caring for people in pain.

Repeatedly witnessing illness, crisis, grief, violence, and suffering can leave invisible wounds. You may become exhausted, emotionally numb, constantly on guard, discouraged, or unable to stop thinking about what you have seen — even after you go home.

At INVICTA International, we recognize that the people who care for others also deserve to be cared for. Supporting caregivers and helping professionals is not optional; it is essential.

Seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of wisdom and courage. When we care for ourselves, we are better able to care for the people who depend on us.

Healing Is Not a Straight Path

As someone who has personally lived with childhood trauma and spent many years serving others as a Registered Nurse, trauma scholar, coach, and advocate, I understand that healing is not always simple or predictable.

Healing is not about pretending the past never happened. It is not about ignoring your pain or forcing yourself to move on before you are ready.

Healing is learning to move forward one step at a time. It is discovering healthy ways to process what you have experienced, building resilience, and embracing the identity God created for you so you can live with greater freedom, meaning, and purpose.

Our Mission: Faith-Based Trauma Support for Every Story

INVICTA International provides faith-centered, trauma-informed education, coaching, encouragement, advocacy, and support. Our mission is to help people move from trauma toward triumph, reclaim their identity, build resilience, and walk with greater confidence into the future God has prepared for them.

Giving up is not the only option. You can give yourself permission to begin — or continue — your healing journey.

What We Will Explore Together

Through our articles, programs, coaching, workshops, retreats, and educational resources, we will explore topics such as:

  • Understanding trauma and the healing process
  • Emotional wellness and resilience
  • Healthy relationships and personal boundaries
  • The connection between trauma and addiction
  • Self-care, caregiving, and caregiver well-being
  • Personal growth, identity, and purpose
  • How trauma can affect the mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spiritual life
  • Practical tools for taking the next step forward

Understanding these connections can become an important part of healing. When we understand why we respond in certain ways, we can begin replacing shame with compassion and confusion with clarity.

Healing Is About Progress, Not Perfection

Whether you are beginning your healing journey or have been walking it for many years, healing is not about becoming perfect.

It is about progress. Sometimes progress looks like taking one small step today that you could not take yesterday. Sometimes it means asking for help, setting a boundary, resting without guilt, or choosing to believe that your future can be different.

Every step matters. Every victory matters. Every chapter of your story matters.

We Would Be Honored to Walk Alongside You

If something you read here speaks to your experience, I encourage you to continue exploring our resources. You may also share them with someone who needs encouragement or reach out to learn more about the support we provide.

Whether through trauma-informed coaching, speaking engagements, workshops, retreats, educational resources, or becoming part of our growing community, we would be honored to walk alongside you with compassion, dignity, and hope.

On behalf of everyone at INVICTA International — welcome.
